Dec. 4, 2025: Due to repeated violations of Reader Comment Rules by a select few, who have ignored warnings, comments on news freewall articles and some more recent articles are closed for the rest of the year.
Comments remain open on Paywall articles.
Trump stuff?
I sure hope there is no direct or indirect pressure to “balance” toward some new “guidelines” dripping down. People are aligning, who would have thought a few years ago.. 🙁
Of course in comments the personal battles are becoming increasingly tiring & Scott & Bjorn deserve some rest after a busy year.
Maybe there is a wordpress tool available to limit posts for everyone to e.g. two a day?
WordPress doesn’t have the tool suggested by @keesje, but I have activated the tool that all comments are now subject to manual review before posting. Therefore, there could be a delay of hours or longer depending on when I happen to see there are comments awaiting moderation.

Wow Scott! That sounds like way more work!
Hope you enjoy your well deserved rest over the Holidays.
Hopefully all of that is not necessary. This “break,” I am sure has gotten everyone’s attention to cool it.
It’s easier to not publish comments that break the rules than it is to react retroactively. I think this is where my final decision will land.

No, annoying and constant personal attack on each other. Feels like 1/2 of the posts were about attacking each other. I come less and less because of that.
Monitoring and policing this is costly.
Long over due, Mr. Hamilton. The back biting that is constant takes away from the comments from qualified engineers as well as active professional folks with information for all of us readers who have a genuine interest in the world of flight. I for one hopes that this ‘cooling off period’ will sink in to those who act the way children act. Happy holidays to all!
This is unfortunate that some people have nothing better to do than to bash at others and bring their opinion when they should abstain.
I will certainly miss the professional comments from the qualified people.
Thank you for all.
A reminder that this suspension is for the balance of this year. Comments will reopen next year.

Enjoy your mental and physical vacation Mr. Hamilton, well deserved.
Hopefully cooler heads will prevail next year.
Would like to thank the industry insiders for their contributions and insights, really appreciate learning from you. Quite amazing the usual offenders have so much time on their hands to spread this negativity.
Happy Holidays to all.
