PARIS, JUNE 17, 2025 – AIN Media Group Inc (AIN), a global leader in aviation news, events and data, and Leeham Company LLC, a premier source for in-depth aerospace and airline industry insights, have reached an agreement in principle under which AIN will acquire Leeham News & Analysis (LNA), adding to AIN’s product portfolio. Completion of the transaction, anticipated to be in July, is subject to the execution of customary documentation.
For nearly two decades, Leeham News & Analysis has been a trusted authority, providing expert coverage of aircraft technology, economics, fleet planning, maintenance, repair and overhaul strategy, and market trends. The addition of Leeham’s specialized reporting and analytical expertise will enhance the depth and breadth of commercial aviation intelligence available to AIN’s global readership. Leeham News will continue to publish under its current brand.
AIN Media Group founder and Chairman Emeritus Wilson Leach commented, “The Board of Directors is committed to the expansion of AIN as an essential resource for the global aviation industry. The acquisition of Leeham News is a huge milestone towards achieving that goal. It is a win for Leeham News, a win for AIN, but most importantly—it is a win for our customers and for the global aviation industry, which now has wider access to the most specialized aerospace reporting and analytical expertise available.”
“Leeham News & Analysis has built an outstanding reputation for delivering sharp, insightful aviation reporting on the air transport and aerospace sectors,” said Ruben Kempeneer, president of AIN Media. “By bringing Leeham’s expertise into the AIN family, we are expanding our ability to provide readers with even more critical industry insights, expert commentary, and exclusive coverage of key aviation developments.”
LNA Continues in Current Brand
Leeham News & Analysis will continue to be published in its current form and the extensive archive of reports and analysis will remain accessible to subscribers, and its expert contributors will continue providing the high-caliber content that subscribers rely on. The transition aims to ensure seamless access to Leeham’s deep industry knowledge while leveraging AIN’s global reach and multimedia capabilities.
This is an exciting new chapter for Leeham News & Analysis,” said Scott Hamilton, founder and managing director of Leeham Co., and editor of LNA. “This agreement provides LNA with the infrastructure and resources to expand its coverage of commercial aviation, including the original equipment manufacturers, the supply chain, the alternative energy sector, new aircraft concepts and new entrants.”
Hamilton and Bjorn Fehrm, an aerospace engineer who serves as LNA’s aeronautical and economic analyst, along with LNA’s team of writers, will continue to contribute under the AIN ownership.
Founded in 1972, AIN produced its first Paris Airshow News magazine at the 1983 Paris Airshow. The company still publishes daily print magazines at the major airshows in Singapore, Dubai, Paris and Farnborough and at NBAA BACE and EBACE and continues to expand its reach across dozens of additional print and digital properties as well as events and data products.
Today, Aviation International News is aviation’s leading independent media and data company and includes a monthly print publication; AINalerts , a daily newsletter; and AINonline.com. These are supplemented by AIN Media Group’s Business Jet Traveler and FutureFlight.aero platforms, the Corporate Aviation Leadership Summit series, FBO Awards and business jet market values data platform, AircraftPost.
While Leeham News & Analysis is set to join the AIN portfolio, Leeham Company LLC will continue operating independently as a premier consulting firm. The company will maintain its focus on aircraft technology, economic analysis, product strategy, fleet planning, market demand analysis, and MRO strategy. Partnering with independent companies, Leeham Consulting also engages in fleet planning analysis. Industry stakeholders can expect the same high-level strategic insights and competitive intelligence from Leeham Company LLC to ensure its continued role as a trusted advisor in the aviation industry.
Leeham Consulting provides independent economic aircraft analysis of Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Mitsubishi, COMAC, IRKUT (now the Yakovlev Corporation) and other existing aircraft and future concepts, including select eVTOLs and other alternative energy aircraft. Leeham Consulting’s proprietary Aircraft Performance and Cost Model (APCM) is capable of calculating aircraft performance, operational and production costs, business plan financial analysis and Layout of Passenger Accommodations (LOPA) for airliners on a neutral, third party basis.
AIN’s acquisition of Leeham News is expected to be completed during July, 2025.
