  5. News near the y.e.:

    > CALC orders 30 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has signed a firm order with Airbus for 30 A320neo Family aircraft to satisfy strong demand for the aircraft from its customer base.

The agreement is the fifth order with Airbus, bringing the total number of Airbus aircraft ordered by CALC to 282, of which 203 are A320neo Family aircraft.

    > Air China to buy 60 Airbus A320neo planes for US$9.53b

Delivery of the A320neo family planes will take place from 2028-2032.

    > Two Chinese Airlines Plan Airbus Jet Purchases Worth up to $8.2 Billion

China’s Spring ‌Airlines and Juneyao Airlines ‌on Monday announced plans to buy 30 and 25 Airbus A320-family jets respectively, according ‍to stock exchange filings.

The jets will be ‌delivered in batches between 2028 and 2032.

    • Yes, 3 Chinese airlines and 1 Chinese lessor ordered a total of 145 A320neo family aircraft in the final days of December.

      Remarkable for several reasons:

      (1) Orders came piecemeal from individual companies, as opposed to grouped orders (for several recipients) announced by the Chinese Government.

      (2) Some news outlets reported that these customers had “paid a premium” to secure earlier slots, starting in 2028. Never heard of such a possibility before — sounds erroneous to me. Perhaps Mr. Hamilton can clarify?

      (3) Are these orders subsets of the “imminent 500 aircraft order” prematurely reported by Reuters months ago…or are these something separate?

      Happy New Year, everyone 🥳
