Here’s a departure from our usual stuff with this Aviation Week story about Boeing’s $800m “make-over” of its Everett plant.
Separately, Boeing will have the 787 at the Farnborough Air Show but not the 747-8.

I think Boeing should bring the B-747-8F too.
Looking forward to seeing the 787 on static display whilst attending Farnborough, I frankly see little point in Boeing further burdening it’s dismal 747-8F-8i programme by what by all accounts would be an embarrassing attempt at window dressing the failed type in the UK
Its almost a certainty that there will be new A380 orders at Farnborough.
No 748 presence tells me that there will be no orders for it during the show!
I find it ominous that Boeing was even debating sending a 787 to the show. Does this not send the message that the flight test program is so far behind that sending a 787 to Farnborough would impose a further delay?

-Well, as an aviation enthusiast and regardless of the commercial success or failure of the 748 programme, I would have loved to see both the 787 and the 748 on display at Farnborough.

-That may be the case but also watch out for some interesting orders for the A330s. That baby is going stronger than ever, 620 orders since the 787 launch and counting. Amazing.
