Wow! I know everyone has had their say on the A380 but this is a brutal cut in the production rate. Am guessing we are seeing more realism with regard to precisely what the backlog currently stands at and the desire to keep a line running with a view to NEO in 2020+. Looking at the production numbers going forward it is almost exclusively Emirates anyway.
A sad day for all passengers who value their comfort IMHO
Currently, the backlog is only 126 aircraft. Without the 20 Amedeo orders, the 6 Virgin orders and the 10 cancelled Hong Kong Airlines orders, there isn’t so many backlog left.
